Biography

Colonel Wistaria (Wiz) Joseph is Director, Manpower and Personnel, U.S. Transportation Command, Scott AFB, IL. In this role, she administers military and civilian workforce plans, policies, programs, organization, and management for a force of over 2,300 personnel and enterprise of over 140,000 personnel and provides human capital strategic solutions to the commander Colonel Joseph was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands and enlisted in the Air Force in 1986. Investing in people has been Colonel Joseph’s passion and motivation since joining the military 35 years ago. She is a 1989 USAFA Preparatory School and 1993 USAFA graduate. Upon graduation, Col Joseph commissioned as a manpower officer. In her 35-year career, Col Joseph served diverse teams in more than 15 manpower and personnel leadership positions – including three command tours of duty – at the squadron, group, wing, headquarters Air Force, and joint staff levels; most notably, Commander, 7th Mission Support Group, Dyess AFB, TX and Director of Military Requirements at the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense in Washington, DC.  Colonel Joseph’s deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Noble Eagle.

Candidacy Statement

I am Colonel Wistaria J. Joseph and I’m seeking your vote for the AOG Board of Directors. As an active duty member, Commander, and former liaison officer for USAFA, I remain connected to the deliberate development of the world’s greatest Air Force and to being an example of excellence for all. I am a trustworthy, outspoken, forthright change-maker who is thoroughly Committed to service before self. As an energetic, dedicated, experienced advocate for justice and humanity, I am able to consistently create a culture of respect and dignity for all. I bleed Air Force Blue and remain a dedicated Airman to the core. I will bring Pride-Hustle-Desire (PHD) to the board on your behalf.
