We greatly appreciate our donors who support those who are called to serve. We have collected some of their stories and the reasons they choose to offer their support to the Air Force's future leaders.

  • Marcus Anderson '61 - As a graduate and a former senior leader at the Air Force Academy, Marcus Anderson has an understandable affinity for the institution. "The Academy shaped my life, provided me the tools for a successful and enjoyable career, and a set of values I have retained and used ever since being a cadet in the class of 1961,” he says.
  • Don Raines ’86 -  Six Academy cadets — all history majors — had an opportunity to visit historic battlefields in Europe this summer as part of the Face of Battle Staff Ride. The trip was funded by Lt. Col. (Ret.) Don Raines ’86 through the United States Air Force Academy Endowment.
  • Mark Howes '75 - As an Academy cadet, Mark Howes ’75 learned important lessons in character and leadership. Those lessons served him well as an Air Force officer and became the foundation for a successful business career that included serving as the vice president of integrated delivery system at Honeywell Aerospace and president of Honeywell Aerospace Asia-Pacific Region. “Leadership is complicated—challenging,” says Howes. “Many folks in business find themselves thrust into leadership roles with no life experience to depend upon. Despite the difficulties, I always found that academy grads (West Point, Annapolis, USAFA) almost always addressed these tough circumstances with a predisposition to do the right thing, especially when it was hard.”
  • B.J. Cooney '64 - For Bernard “B.J.” Cooney ’64, peace of mind was a learned state during his Air Force service.
  • Class of '67 - The Class of 1967, which celebrated its 50th reunion in 2017, has long included the cemetery as a class giving priority.
