Jacks is Jumping

2nd Basic Cadet Training for the Class of 2022 is beginning to wind down in Jacks Valley at the United States Air Force Academy.

Basic cadets first marched out to Jacks Valley, a 3,300-acre training grounds, on Sunday, July 22. They will return to the comforts of dorm life on Wednesday, Aug. 1.

2nd Basic expands upon the military and physical preparation of 1st BCT, but at Jacks the basic cadets are pushed to their limits to build confidence and develop teamwork skills. 2nd Basic also includes small-unit tactics and firearms training.

The Association of Graduates was part of Media Day on Monday morning, July 30, as photographers made stops at the assault course, the Leadership Reaction Course (LRC) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Enhanced Conventional Weapons (CBRNE) station. Basic squadrons rotated among those challenges and others during their 10-day stay at Jacks.

BCT will conclude with the annual Acceptance Parade on Tuesday, Aug. 7. At that point, the fourth-class cadets will officially join the Cadet Wing and begin the academic year.
