He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1995, and earned a degree in civil engineering from the United States Air Force Academy in 2002. He served five years in the Air Force as a civil engineering officer, rising to the rank of captain, before entering the private sector in 2007. Ewing leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Heather, and their five children, Peyton, Kyle, Nolan, Levi, and Brooke.
