Bass Military Scholars Program

In recognition of the patriotism, scholarship and leadership qualities and capabilities of veterans, Vanderbilt University launched the Bass Military Scholars Program in 2018 to provide financial aid to an annual cohort of highly talented veterans pursuing graduate and professional degrees across five Vanderbilt schools. Eligible veterans may submit a Bass scholarship application by the mid-February deadline each year.

Olmstead Foundation Scholarship

For over five decades Olmsted Scholars have pursued graduate studies at foreign universities in topics ranging from political science and history to literature. But the true power of the Olmsted Scholar Program comes from the experience of full immersion in foreign countries and cultures across the globe.

McConn Public Policy Internship

Sponsor US Air Force Academy graduate for a one-year graduate degree at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute. Selected officers will learn both the art and science of policy management and leadership. Students develop leadership and communications skills in a curriculum that emphasizes analytical rigor to advance policy agendas. Graduates receive a Master of Policy Management degree. Required follow-on assignment to OSD, JCS, SAF or Air Staff office with legislative branch interaction.

Ian Helms Award/ The Dakota Foundation

The Ian Helms Award for Social Entrepreneurship aims to assist local philanthropic organizations with creative and inspiring projects to increase self-sustainability while also providing a strong social return. Recognizing that small nonprofits are often constrained by a lack of capital and support, the primary objective of the Ian Helms Award is to help already-active small organizations to establish or grow a source of regular revenue that will both help secure the sustainability of the organization while also providing employment, education, or support to those in need.
