Proclaiming Graduate Heritage
Your AOG takes pride in proclaiming the heritage of Academy graduates through major memorial projects. Our role includes coordination of many on-going construction projects which enhance the Academy and proclaim graduate heritage. Two years ago, numerous classes and individuals worked with the AOG to dedicate key USAFA Cemetery upgrades. A Memorial Pavilion, Directory Building, Composure Room, and a traffic turn around were added to serve families and guests - each a significant gift from our graduate community.

Harmon Memorial
Last year, the Class of '64 dedicated the Mall of Heroes as a source of inspiration to all cadets. The Mall is located at the base of the Cadet Ramp. This year, on April 17, the Class of '59 dedicated the impressive Harmon Memorial. The memorial stands between Harmon Hall and the Cadet Chapel. The Mall of Heroes on the east, and the Harmon Memorial on the west, now provide dynamic visual end points as Academy graduates present USAFA heritage throughout the Cadet Area.
This summer, the Class of '89 will construct a Heritage Trail memorial emphasizing "Valor." The Heritage Trail is adjacent to Doolittle Hall. The Class of '70 will begin construction this Fall on the Southeast Asia Pavilion, also located on the Heritage Trail. The Pavilion is a $1 million, two-part project. Construction is to be completed next year and exhibits installed soon thereafter. Meanwhile, the Class of '67 continues to upgrade the USAFA Cemetery. The Class will soon renovate the Polaris Memorial to host a 25 bell automated carillon unit to be installed within the next few years.
"Service Before Self" remains a fundamental value of those who continue serving proudly by proclaiming graduate heritage through major memorial projects coordinated by the AOG. Numerous other classes also provide their service in providing large financial commitments in support of critical, but unfunded, USAFA needs other than memorial projects.
