Giving to USAFA and the AOG
The Association of Graduates is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to serving our graduates and members, enhancing the heritage of this premier institution and enriching the cadet experience by funding programs not fully supported with appropriated funds. The AOG aspires to be the primary organization of the United States Air Force Academy graduates and friends dedicated to supporting the Academy mission of building leaders of character for the Air Force and the nation.
Learn more about the AOG's comprehensive campaign, Building Leaders of Character for the Nation.
The Development office of the AOG works in support of the Air Force, the Academy and the graduates to raise private funds to support and develop Academy, cadet and graduate programs that would not otherwise be fully funded. Gifts to the AOG advance our mission to serve and support the United States of America, the United States Air Force, the United States Air Force Academy, and the graduate community by enabling the AOG to:
a. Work in partnership with the Academy to produce and foster graduates with an enduring commitment to integrity, excellence, and service to country.
b. Provide leadership, communication, and support to all the Academy's graduates, and promote camaraderie among them.
c. Promote the Academy's heritage, our common traditions, and the accomplishments of our graduates.
As ambassadors for this institution, we strive to see its continued success in shaping our nation's young people into leaders of great character and strength through providing supplementary funding for cadet clubs, club sports, Academy heritage, character development, academics and athletics, among other areas.
Private funding has improved the Academy from the start including such projects as the football stadium, Eisenhower Golf Course, Farrish Memorial and the Barry Goldwater Visitors Center. If you think back to many of the programs were involved in when you were a cadet, chances are private donations played a part in providing funding to make those programs possible.
We, the graduates of former years, are proud of today's cadets and graduates.
Their service is laudable and their accomplishments admired. We want to help today's cadets achieve even more by providing the best Academy experience possible.
Parents, friends, and supporters respect the Academy and the values it represents.
They, too, admire the young men and women who chose to serve their
country and, if necessary, to give their lives in its defense. They, too, want to
support today's cadets.
The AOG, in conjunction with the Superintendent's strategic plan for the future, is
helping the Academy achieve this vision by securing private support for several
key initiatives not funded by the government.
Gifts to the Academy and AOG may be given through seven major program areas:
- Air Force Academy Fund: annual undesignated gifts, including Sabre Society-level commitments
- Major Gifts: large, multi-year commitments from individuals (generally $50,000 or more) that are often intended to accomplish a specific philanthropic goal
- Matching Gifts: gifts given by corporations to match employee contributions
- Class Gifts: special gift projects from members of reunion classes to commemorate their graduation and service
- Corporate Gifts: gifts from corporations and foundations that may also be intended to accomplish a specific philanthropic goal
- Planned Gifts: gifts, including those recognized in the Polaris Society, established through bequests, trusts and other tax efficient methods of giving through your estate
- Paver Program: Commemorative bricks express your pride in the Academy, honor the achievements of a cadet or graduate, and commemorate friends and loved ones.
