Meet the candidates who are running for seats on the AOG Board

Dozens of cadets volunteer during break

More than 60 cadets are joining in a program sponsored by Habitat for Humanity to build homes for poor families in Texas and New Mexico. A smaller group is heading for a Navajo Nation reservation in New Mexico to help families fix existing dwellings.

 

Academy grad tests new ammo

Air Force F-16 pilots, like Lieutenant David Bennent, ’03, are employing a new 20mm cannon round in their M61/A1 Gatling guns for the first time, improving pilot safety, while reducing collateral damage.


Lt. Col. Chase Nielsen service held March 28

Friends, family and servicemembers paid their respects March 28 to retired Lt. Col. Chase J. Nielsen, a member of the Tokyo Doolittle Raiders, who died March 23 at his home in Brigham City, Utah.

Cadets learn about past, present weapons

Academy history majors and history club members went back in time with a historic weapons shoot March 10 at Fort Carson.

Minnesota rallies for 4-3 win over AFA in NCAA regional

Minnesota scored three goals in a span of 3:36 of the third period for a 4-3 win over Air Force in the first game of the 2007 NCAA West Regional at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo.

Fencing team finishes 16th at NCAA Championships
The Air Force Academy fencing squad of  finished 16th in the final team standings at the 2007 NCAA Collegiate Men's and Women's Fencing Championships.


C4C Melissa Beerse Sets Academy Pole Vault Record (again!)

Beerse won the event after clearing a height of 12'6¼". That mark, which was over a foot better than the rest of the field, broke the USAFA record from 2001.

 
 

Afghans taken under AFA’s wing

Academy professors Col. Tom Drohan, ’79, and Col. Ed Westermann, ’84, are working on a plan to build better lieutenants in the Afghanistan army air corps.
