9,000 applicants vie for Class of 2011

Half-way through the selections process, the Academy Class of 2011 looks similar to the Class of 2010 at a comparable point in time a year ago, "We have about 9,000 applications--virtually identical as last year," said Mr. Rollie Stoneman, associate director of Admissions.

Retirement not the end for 42-year veteran
As the countdown for his Feb. 16 retirement approaches, Long time Academy permanent professor Col. Douglas Murray easily ticked off changes during his 42 years of service.

Mall of Heroes Update
The Sculptor for the Mall of Heroes has requested to borrow flight gear and survival equipment similar to what was used by Lance Sijan (F-4C) and Karl Richter (F-105).  He wants to dress and equip live models to pose for the clay maquettes. If any grad has some of this equipment that they would be willing to loan the AOG it would greatly help the sculptor.

Air Force Dominates Utah, 69-43
The Falcons used a swarming defense to force Utah into 19 turnovers and limit the Utes to almost half the number of points as in the first meeting. Air Force led by as many as 30 points with 7:37 remaining in the game.



Bridger Lord Named WWC Wrestler of the Week

C1C Lord has been named the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week as announced by league officials Wednesday afternoon. Lord, a 149-pounder, is the second Air Force wrestler to earn conference accolades this season.

McFarland and Romanko Improve All-Time Standing at Seattle

Highlighted by two incursions into the Academy record book, several members of the Air Force track team completed competition at the Husky Classic in Seattle, Wash., on Feb. 10.

Air Force Baseball Announces Coaching Changes For 2007 Season
Air Force baseball head coach Mike Hutcheon announced several changes to his coaching staff for the 2007 season. Assistant coach Scott Marchand was promoted to pitching coach and Chandler Rose was hired as an assistant coach.
