AOG seeks new CEO
The Association of Graduates (AOG) Board of Directors is seeking a President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Jim Shaw, ’67, has resigned after many years of exemplary service. The Board has appointed Gary Howe, ’69, as CEO to serve until an interim or permanent CEO is selected. AOG announces appointment of new Directors The AOG Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of J.W. “Wild Bill” Stealey, ’70, and Allison A. Hickey, ’80, to the AOG Board of Directors. In accordance with the AOG Bylaws adopted in May, 2006, the Board consists of 11 elected directors and up to four appointed directors. Dept. of Astronautics to celebrate 50th Anniversary
The Department of Astronautics at the United States Air Force Academy is planning to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its establishment on March 7, 2008. Air Force, Calhoun agree on new 5-year deal Air Force football coach Troy Calhoun’s new contract is official. The five-year deal runs through the 2012 season and includes a base salary that will start at $560,000 this year and increase by 5 percent each year. The actual value of the contract, including benefits, is just less than $646,000. Air Force Rifle Team scores big wins The Air Force Academy rifle team won both matches against The Citadel and Virginia Military Institute (VMI) this past weekend in Charleston, S.C., shooting both smallbore and air rifle during Saturday's and Sunday's competition. Air Force’s leading scorer, Eric Ehn, fractured his left fibula in a feet-first collision into the boards Saturday against Colorado College. Ehn — a finalist for last year’s Hobey Baker Award, given to college hockey’s best player — will undergo further evaluation this week to determine the extent of possible ligament damage.
