Troy University educates about thirty thousand students that are enrolled at their historic Alabama campus and more than sixty locations worldwide. That includes two locations here in the Colorado Springs area. Celebrating 125 years in higher education this year, the university also offers a state-of-the-art online campus that provides significant flexibility for students on the move – one of many ways we show our support of our country's service members.
TROY's regional headquarters for the western U.S. is located in Colorado Springs, just south of USAFA’s South Gate, and they have an office serving soldiers at the Fort Carson Education Center. A True Blue Business since June 2011, Colorado Area Director, Mike Craig, calls their new relationship with the AOG "a natural extension of Troy University’s long-running support for our nation's military. In fact, the Korean War was still raging when TROY began to establish itself as a pioneer in distance education by offering college courses to soldiers on nearby Fort Rucker, Alabama." That trend of outreach to the military never stopped, and now the university is one of the largest public institutions serving all branches of the military around the world. An Air Force retiree himself, Mr. Craig enjoys working for a school so closely allied with the military. He says "The 'military-friendly' description has become a bit worn out lately, but TROY started living those words many decades before they were considered cool."
Locally, TROY offers an in-the-classroom Master of Science degree in International Relations, and their highly acclaimed online degree programs provide a variety of fully accredited options at the associate, bachelor’s and master’s levels. TROY was named a "Best Distance Learning Graduate School" at www.geteducated.com. The university has also been ranked year after year in The Princeton Review and Forbes Magazine's list of "Best Public Colleges".
