Fundraising 101
The following briefing was presented to the AOG Board of Directors, the Superintendent and the Senior Academy Staff in 2001 on the eve of the decision to launch the Building Leaders of Character for the Nation Campaign. It provides a good overview of what is required to make a campaign a success and the steps needed to be accomplished in order to get a campaign off the ground. The briefing is followed by a Checkpoints article written by Jennifer Bateman, the then Acting Vice President of Development. The article outlines some of the specific actions taken by the AOG Board and the Academy staff to get the campaign launched. To date the campaign has raised over $36M to support cadet, Academy, graduate and AOG programs.
